The first week's discussion will take place all week, and it will focus on (a) finding a mutually suitable time for a "real time discussion" and (b) dealing with any technical issues with the website. After this, we will meet at a specific time (or times) that are acceptable to all; if we have a small group this will be one 50 minute period, if we have a larger group we will have two or more sessions (but attendance at only one will be required). Your grade (totalling 20% of the overall grade) will depend on your level of contribution.

The second week's discussion is at 4:35pm on Friday, February 1, and will deal with questions related to the "Focus the Nation" debates.

The third week's discussion (talk) is at 4:00pm on Friday, February 8. Postponed till Wednesday, February 13. It will be the first "Acme" meeting, and it will discuss the pros and cons of businesses investing in the environment (mainly relating to the topic covered in Chem395:Unit 2).

The fourth week's discussion (talk) is at 4:00pm on Friday, February 15. It will consider what key scientific research, both applied and pure, will have the most important effect on helping manufacturers move towards sustainability.

The fifth week's discussion (talk) has been postponed until is at 2:00pm on Wednesday, February 27. It will be the second Acme meeting. The environmental committee needs to discuss the consequences of the recent explosion on the DMBTFE plant.

The sixth week's discussion (talk) is at 4pm on Friday, and will address the question, "What form of manufacturing is most appropriate for a sustainable society."

The seventh week's discussion (talk) is at 4pm on Friday. It will cover the thorny issue of "Who pays to clean up?" Not as straightforward as it seems....

The eighth week's discussion (talk) is at 4pm on Friday March 14th. It will discuss likely future scenarios for fossil and renewable energy resources.

The ninth week's discussion (talk) is at 2pm on Wednesday, and it will deal with any questions you may have regarding the assignments.

The tenth week's discussion (talk) is at 4pm on Friday, April 4th.

The eleventh week's discussion (talk) is at 4pm on Friday, April 11th.
