Music by the Crane School of Music

We plan to have a concert on Friday evening, by musicians from the highly regarded Crane School of Music. This will most likely follow the Awards banquet, but (unlike the banquet) will have free entry. There will also be incidental music at other events, such as the main poster session on opening night.

Visit to SunFeather Soap

At 9am on Saturday, June 5th, there will be vans or buses leaving campus to give a tour of the SunFeather handmade soap factory. The $12 cost will be collected on the day of the event. SunFeather Natural Soap Company is located on the outskirts of Potsdam. The soaps make very attractive gifts, and have been featured regularly on "Oprah". The tour should return to campus around 10:30am. A SunFeather brochure has been provided by the company and is available for File:SunFeatherSoapBrochure.pdf (PDF, 2.1 MB).

Opening reception

On Wednesday, June 2nd, there will be a reception for all attendees in the Multipurpose Room in the Barrington Students Union. This will begin with a plenary address by Dr. Katie Hunt, followed by hors d'oevres and a cash bar. One free drink ticket will be provided with registration. The main poster session and job/graduate school fair will open up alongside.

Breakfast with with ACS Governance

This gives attendees a chance to meet with the newly elected ACS District One Board representative and other ACS officer. More details later.

Awards banquet

On the evening of Friday, June 4th, there will be a banquet (ticket only, expected cost $25) in Thatcher Hall. This will include lovely food and a short award ceremony, where we will recognize around five winners of regional awards. See Award nominations for details of the awards to be presented, and to make nominations. After the banquet, there will be a free concert with musicians from the Crane School of Music.

Two other events have been planned for Thursday, June 3rd; information will be added once the details have been confirmed.
